Seasonal Programs for Children's Skill Development

Kids Programs

Our season long children's programs are staffed with fun-loving, child-centered specialists who will share their enthusiasm with the same group of kids each day. Children develop dynamic skiing and riding skills, an awareness of the mountain environment and safety, while building interactive life skills and a love for sliding. Teams are split by age, ability and independence on the mountain. Children entering our skill development program must ski unassisted on easy green terrain.

CHILDREN'S SEASONAL PROGRAMS:
December 27, 2008 - March 15, 2009

Rattlesnake Program (Ages 4-12)

The focus for this group is to develop and blend basic skiing skills along with an awareness of safety in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Snowboard Switch Program (ages 8-12)

Any child eight years and older may choose to ski on Saturdays and snowboard on Sundays. Snowboard groups are formed by ability levels–this is a great opportunity to learn to ride, improve skills or become proficient and enjoy the park.

Rattlesnake Snowboard (Ages 8-14)

Snowboard full-time program for those riders who have developed skills and confidence to navigate the mountain. Riders should be comfortable on at least blue square terrain. Our focus wil be on building skills, carving drills, exploring all terrain, gates and an introduction to the park and park etiquette.

Pre-Race Program (ages 7- 14)

This program is just right for kids who are strong parallel skiers and want to improve their racing skills beyond recreational racing but may not be quite ready to move to Cranmore Race Team. Pre Race is an excellent stepping-stone with the introduction of simple gate drills and race tactics in a non-competitive environment.

Teen Adventure (ages 11-14)

  • Designed for skiers/riders looking for a variety of sliding experiences & camaraderie.
  • Option to apprentice with our Rattlesnake Program.
  • Enjoy part of the season with coach, and part learning to teach and work with young children.

Intro to Freestyle Program (ages 8-14)

  • Skiers/riders of intermediate skill and above
  • Develop skills to be proficient freestyle skier or rider; improve terrain park ability
  • Awareness of proper use of terrain parks and Smart Style etiquette.
  • The Otherside, our progression learning park, has been enlarged to include elements designed for learning.
