2008 Cranmore Race Team
Cranmore is proud to be Number 2 in the East once again for NASTAR race participation.
MWVST's Leanne Smith placed 4th in the Super G portion of the Super Combined World Cup at St. Moritz Switzerland.In the SG she was only .33 behind former World Cup Champ Anna Paerson of Sweden. Congrats, Leanne!
Former Mt.Washington Valley Ski Team stand out Leanne Smith had her best World Cup finish of her young career finishing 17th in Super G at Lake Louise, Canada over the weekend.
Leanne started 37thth and moved up considerably to finish in 17th place with a time of 1:22:27, second for the US. Defending World Cup champion, Lindsay Vonn of the US Ski Team placed 9th. Nadia Fanchini of Italy took the win posting a time of 1:20:97. Fabienne Suter of Switzerland placed 2nd and Andrea Fischbacher of Austria took 3rd . Other US finishers were Chelsea Marshall, 21st , Olympic Gold medalist Julia Mancuso, 22nd , Stacey Cook, 39th and Kaylin Richardson, 45th .
Leanne has had a spectacular start to her US Ski Team career. She raced the America’s Opening World Cup GS at Aspen, Nov.29 and had a dozen World Cup starts last season. She heads to Europe for more World Cup racing before returning briefly for Christmas. Leanne is a great example of an athlete who stayed home, attended Kennett High School and took advantage of the world class training available here in the Mt. Washington Valley.

Join us on December 11, 18, and 26 for special Nordic night races! December 11th and 26th are skate ski events and December 18th is a classical event. The races will start at 6:30pm and take place on the lower portion of the mountain. Registration is the night of the race starting at 5:45pm in Ski Mobile Station on the second floor.
